Frank R. Parth, MSSM, MBA, PMP®
Frank Parth, MS Physics, MSSM, MBA, PMP, has 30+ years experience in project management, engineering and leadership. He spent his first career in aerospace and culminated it 15 years later as the assistant technical director of a classified satellite program.
In 1993, Mr. Parth founded Project Auditors, a consultancy in project management, training and auditing. He was a CTO for an e-commerce company; managed systems engineering at Experian during a major infrastructure upgrade; and created PMOs for Fortune 1000 companies. International work in EMEA and Asia has given him perspectives of project management, culture and people that guide his consulting, teaching and PMI work.
His interest in helping others defined his second career. He began teaching project management at University of California in 1994 and received UC-Irvine's 2003 Outstanding Service award, and is a guest lecturer at USC's Marshall School of Business and at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. He is an international speaker, a published author and has written multiple articles in project management. His biography is in Who's Who in the World.
After joining PMI in 1994 he quickly discovered how rewarding volunteering for PMI was and has been an active volunteer at the local level and for the Institute. He served on the local chapter board for several years as well as holding multiple positions in specific interest groups (SIGs), including SIG chair. He has been involved in credentials development, was a Component Mentor, and was project manager for The Standard for Program Management--Second edition.

Joy Gumz, CPA, CISA, PMP®
Ms. Gumz has consulted with numerous Global 2000 organizations, including Chevron, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Ashland Oil, Credit Suisse, Wolseley, Boeing, Novartis, Lockheed Martin, the United Nations, SAP AG, and Siemens. She has consulted with the operational audit group of Siemens and developed the operational risk assessment processes for one of the world's largest oil refineries, due to come on-line in 2013.
She has taught project management and auditing courses at KPMG UK, Takreer Refinery, the Majid Al Futtain Group, the Department of Homeland Security, Parker-Hannifin, the University of Sharjah, California State University and the University of California as well as to other global organizations. She has also reviewed the information technology project management practices at several privately held entrepreneurial firms and Global 2000 companies. She is the first female instructor to teach at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
Ms. Gumz brings a unique perspective to her teaching and consulting work by combining the fields of project management, information technology, accounting and auditing. Her latest assignment was a risk assessment for SATORP, a joint venture of Saudi Aramco and the Total Group. The JV combines the resources of two of the largest integrated petroleum companies in the world to create an export refinery in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
While with Ernst & Young in Chicago, she worked in their audit and management consulting practices in Chicago. After leaving Ernst & Young, she began a consulting career that has spanned numerous industries: financial services, high tech, hospitality/resort, construction, health care, wholesale, retail, consumer products, oil & gas, and others. Her expertise in ERP and cost systems has allowed her to consult in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the U.K., and the Middle East. She led a project in Europe that successfully implemented Peoplesoft at a global pharmaceutical company in record time, and has performed risk assessments and project audits for organizations worldwide.
In addition to consulting and teaching, she has developed the curriculum and content for several courses in project management and auditing. She also develops custom exercises for industries ranging from aircraft repair, submarines, mechanical and hydraulic systems, construction, and information technology to oil & gas upstream & downstream.
Ms. Gumz has published numerous papers in project management and is an international speaker. She recently presented in Cairo, Egypt in the construction and oil & gas tracks. She is on the editorial board for Cost Engineering, a publication of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACEI). Her editorial specialties for AACEI are cost accounting, construction accounting, and earned value management. Her professional memberships include the Project Management Institute, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. She is a member of PMI's Technology Member Advisory Group, a 10-member board that provides advice on information technology. |
Jesse Fewell PMP® CST

Mr. Fewell is a writer, speaker, and trainer in the business of technology management. In addition to speaking for Agile, Scrum, and PMI conferences, he has collected a broad array of experiences in several sectors such as National Security, Aerospace, GIS, Stock Multimedia, Telecom, and Hospitality. Recently, he founded the PMI Agile Community of Practice, PMI's component dedicated to Agile Project Management. Currently, he is the head of offshore agile projects at RippleRock India. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST).
