Datuk Dr Mohamed Arif Nun
Chief Executive Officer Multimedia Development Corporation
DATUK DR MOHAMED ARIF NUN is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the
Multimedia Development Corporation, the one-stop agency for realizing the
Multimedia Super Corridor. He is responsible to provide the leadership
to drive the MDC as a high performance organization that is responsible
to translate the MSC vision into action.
Prior to his appointment in MDC, he was the Deputy Director-General 1
(1991 - 1996) of the Malaysian Institute of Microelectronic Systems
(MIMOS) responsible for its corporate research program.
Datuk Dr Arif was with the University Technology Malaysia (UTM) from
1977 to 1985, where he served as a lecturer, Associate Professor and
Departmental Head in the Faculty of Engineering. From 1995 to 1996 he
was advising the Government on the telecommunications, information and
multimedia infrastructure of Putrajaya, the new 21st Century administrative
capital of Malaysia.
Datuk Dr Arif holds a Bachelor's (Honours) Degree in Electrical and
Electronics Engineering from University of London as well as a Master's
Degree and a Doctorate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from
Loughborough University of Technology.
He has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences
and seminars as well as professional scientific and technical publications.
He has also worked on numerous projects including UTM's Domestic Satellite
Ground Station, the Palm Oil Mill Automation System (POMAS) project and
SCADA Project for Tenaga Nasional Berhad.

Datuk Dr Arif used to be a regular guest lecturer in INTAN on raising the
awareness in creativity and lateral thinking among government professionals.
Incidentally he is the former Vice-President of the Malaysian Invention and
Design Society (MINDS). He is the current Chairman of the Malaysian Design
Council. On 25 February, 2003, he was appointed to the Board of Directors
of the newly-formed Malaysia Intellectual Property Corporation.
Datuk Dr Arif has a personal ambition: "I am committed to assisting Malaysians
to optimize his or her brain potential in order to make Malaysia the
"hot-house" of creative and innovative ideas and technologies in the region."

Azdilizan Abdullah a Senior Executive for Solution Assessment & Development
Centre (SADC) has over 8 years of experience in Project Management and Software
Development Life Cycle. He has coordinated and managed various types of project,
ranging IT related to Non-IT related. He has setup a Help Desk operation whereby
he needs to identify the help desk requirements, evaluate and recommend help desk
tools, implement and operate help desk centre. He was involved in development of
an Enterprise Architecture Framework, standards and guidelines of integrating
various MSC Flagship Applications in a cost effective manner.
He is currently in

Abstract
The presentation is to share the Multimedia Development Corporation
(MDC)'s experience in using PMBOK to manage test project when providing
independent software testing services to the stakeholders.
The nature of
each test project demands that controls are in place when project is
executed in order to achieve the right results or outcomes. This is a
dynamic process utilising appropriate resources within the organisation,
in a controlled and structured manner, employed to achieve an outcome
clearly defined with specific objectives. This help us focuses on producing
deliverables that achieve total customer satisfaction.
Every test project
implementation emphasizes on continuous process improvement, people involvement
through teams and quantitative methods for planning, controlling and delivering
successful deliverables.
Both presenters are from Solution Assessment &
Development Centre ("SADC"). They will share their experience how they have
effectively integrated PMI PMBOK with their own testing processes that is the
SADC Test Methodology Framework (SADC TMF) in managing testing projects.

Ms Ng Wan Peng is Vice President of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC),
heading its Capacity Development Division. MDC is a Malaysian Government owned
company, responsible for the coordination, promotion and development of Information
and Communication Technology (ICT) in the country. Her areas of responsibility
include creating conducive environment for ICT companies through providing world
class infrastructure and telecom services, promote Cyberlaws and IP protection,
and developed programmed to help enhance companies' competitiveness. Some of the
capability development programmes undertaken by the Capacity Development Division
are the Software Improvement Programmes, Software Testing, Project Management
Capability Development programme and so forth. She also chairs the Technology
and Commercialization Committee of the MSC Multimedia Grant Scheme.
Ms Ng has more than 16 years of experience in the ICT field. She has extensive
experience in managing large-scale projects, in the areas of Strategic IT Planning,
Project Management, Systems Integration, and Methodologies Development. Ms Ng has
consulted for both private and public sector organizations in IT policy and project
implementation in government, defense and education sectors in Malaysia and abroad.

Mr. Robert Laing is a licensed professional engineer
with more than 15 years of experience in the design
of large-scale defense systems. For the past four
years he has consulted to Lockheed Martin STASYS
Ltd, one of the world's largest defense contractors,
on regional programs in Asia in the areas of large-
scale C4ISR systems, network centric warfare,
architecture frameworks, radar-based surveillance,
and electronic support measures.
